DIY Christmas Gift Favourites

Have you ever spent hours on Pinterest searching for the perfect (affordable) DIY Christmas Gift? I sure have! I do it every year in hopes that I can find a practical gift to give coworkers and friends on a budget. So this year, here are a few of my favourite ones.

1. Cookies

I mean… who doesn’t love a cookie? You eat it and you don’t have to throw it out later if you didn’t actually like it. Plus, baking multiple cookies at once can be done on a budget. I liked to wrap my in cellophane bags with a nice little ribbon and personalized gift tag like these ones.

2. Hand Warmers

I don’t sew but these were very easy! I picked out some Christmas fabric, cut them into squares with a pair of scalloped fabric scissors (that prevents fringing) and used my mom’s sewing machine to sew 4 simple lines. All you need inside is some rice! You can find some instructions here.

3. Pens and Candy Canes

These are extremely simple and were a big hit with my coworkers because we were always losing pens. I personalized mine with names but I think it can still be a nice touch with just a candy cane.

4. Ornaments

If you’re feeling confident in your lettering or painting skills, you can buy an affordable set of blank acrylic ornaments from Amazon and create an extremely personalized ornament. I had fun doing this one for some of my closer friends last year!

5. Curated Set

Maybe you aren’t feeling crafty but want to personalize a gift to show some real thought behind it. You can curate a set of vinyl stickers and gift it with a water bottle. You could curate a set of cards for them to use all next year. You could curate a list of date ideas or Bible verses for each day of the coming year. There are so many ideas on little things you can bring together to make a meaningful gift.
